Always. When you’re drinking a wine called “Wisdom” silly.
A few of you have sent notes looking for red wine so I thought I would share this Zinfandel offer from Dendor Patton. Here’s what I liked right off the bat: free shipping if you buy 6 or more bottles (and only $15 shipping if you buy 3) and 20% discount if you use the promotion code: RAZZIN.
Next, I liked the description of the wine: 90% Zinfandel grapes that consistently yield intense spicy flavors; 5% of a very special old vine Barbera for its natural high acidity, great color, beautiful perfume and depth of flavor; and 5% Petite Sirah for a bit of weight and to enhanced the finish. All of the fruit is grown in Mendocino County.
As far as I can tell, this is the first vintage that has used this blend. The website reports that the winemaker was so pleased with the Zinfandel harvest that it was “nearly complete.” The Petit Sirah came from their friends at Mendocino Wine Company, which planted the grape for their top end projects (and since this fruit is not for sale, I can only imagine that it was like strolling next door for a cup of sugar). The third source of fruit came from Rick Piffero, a third generation grape grower in Mendocino County.
If you’re interested in purchasing this wine, head to dendorpatton.com; for 20% off, enter your promo code in “CAPS” (RAZZIN). There’s a three bottle minimum purchase. Chin-chin.
